Web Sudoku is a type of mind puzzle developed for online gaming, derived from the traction of the game in worldwide newspapers and magazines. Using a flat box made of 81 squares composes in a 9X9 set, the puzzle requires the individual to fill in all squares with numbers ranging from 1 to 9, but the same number cannot be used twice in the same column, row or mini 3X3 box.

Before commencing, the puzzle starts out with some pre-arranged numbers already in squares so there can only be one right answer per puzzle.

Though the origin of the game is debated, Sudoku likely got its start from the "Latin Squares" puzzles. In the 1970's, similar puzzles were published under the name "Number Squares", and spread into Japanese culture, where the trend caught like wildfire and was renamed "Sudoku".
